Refurbishment and maintenance

At AEC Museum & Gallery Products, we offer a full refurbishment and maintenance service for all types of hardware and products situated in museums, art galleries and other public spaces.

Our team of technicians and engineers have lots of experience of carefully modifying items so they can serve a new purpose or simply function better.

Our refurbishment service explained

Step 1 – Assessment

We’ll discuss with you how you’d like your existing hardware to be modified and its intended function. At this stage, we’ll assess the fixture and make some initial recommendations, as well as provide a cost estimate for the project.

Step 2 – Design and development

Step 3 – High-precision machining

After bringing your hardware to our workshop in Surrey, our highly skilled machinists will start to use state-of-the art technology to turn your existing hardware into the finished item you desire. We’ll also rigorously inspect and test the product to make sure it meets the highest of standards.

Step 4 Refinishing

If required, we can carefully finish your refurbished item to a standard you’re delighted with. The refinishing services we offer include repainting, plating in a range of metals and bronze restoration.

Step 5 – Installation

Once you’re happy with your final product, our installation team will work closely with you to make sure your refurbished item is installed correctly in your museum or gallery. We’ll always do this with extreme care and in a way that causes minimal disruption to your space and customers.
